Parca Auxiliary Luncheon 2022
When I had my son Winston, getting involved in the community he would be raised in became one of my top priorities. I then joined the board of Burlingame’s Parents Club (BPC), and loved being involved in my community as well as meeting some amazing people. I also established amazing friendships that I continue to treasure today. As our family aged out of BPC, I started looking for other opportunities to give of my time.
I joined Parca Auxiliary in the fall of 2019 as a Provisional. My journey began with so much excitement to fundraise and prepare for the annual luncheon that would take place in the spring of 2020. Needless to say, our event was overshadowed by THE event of the century, COVID-19.
After a two-year hiatus, we finally made a big and colorful comeback!
When Erin Calihan, Co-Chair of the 33rd Luncheon & Fashion Show and a good friend reached out and asked if I could help on the day of our first in-person luncheon since 2019, I couldn’t have been more excited for the opportunity to be back with this inspiring group of women.
We had the most fabulous time together on one sunny and beautiful spring afternoon in Hillsborough, California, dining, laughing, making new friends, cheering on the models and, most importantly, fundraising a record amount of money for the PARCA Organization.
The 33rd Annual Luncheon and Fashion show was a huge success that marked the return to some level of normalcy we had all missed so much.
Every spring, the Auxiliary hosts a Luncheon & Fashion Show as its primary fundraiser for PARCA (Partners and Advocates for Remarkable Children and Adults), an organization dedicated to serving people with developmental disabilities and their families in the Bay Area. PARCA is committed to providing opportunities for disabled people of all ages to help them experience choice, control and individuality in every area of their lives. The generous donations from the Luncheon’s sponsors and guests help contribute to the success of PARCA’s many programs. Since its founding, the PARCA Auxiliary has raised over $4 million for PARCA.
Special Shout outs to the Luncheon Committee and the Board of Directors 2021-2022
